New single Skyline/Jeanie is to be released on limited edition vinyl only, out on 9th December 98. It was no. 15 in the Radio One Cool Cuts Chart on the Pete Tong Show and also played on Graham Golds show on Kiss FM. click to read review


A brand new label called 4 real.com has been launched by Salt Tank. Primarily releasing quality progressive melodic cuts, journeys into other areas should be expected with future releases. The first four records [real 1-4] will be issued at six week intervals. The first release is Skyline/I dream of Jeanie, released on 12th December, Paul Oakenfold has the only acetate. The second release will feature a track written by Salt Tank and Chicane whilst other collaborators include bt, Paul van Dyk and Astralasia.


The new album is taking shape, 14 tracks have been recorded so far, but Salt Tank wish to record another 4 or 5 before compiling the album. An album of orinoco sessions which spawned st1 &st2 has been compiled will be available soon on the official Salt Tank website. Also in the pipeline is a collection of Salt Tank remixes of other artists such as Sueno Latino etc.


Salt Tank have recently remixed Girls on Film by Duran Duran. Two new tracks called digital damage and rezmorize were played in the live set at the Beach Festival on the 15th August. click to read review


The second live performance of the year will be at The Beach Festival which takes place at Carlyon Bay St Austell Cornwall on the 14th, 15th & 16th August. A Megadog event featuring 3 live stages including 808 State, Akasha, BRA, Dreadzone, Empirion, Lionrock, Laurent Garnier Live, Red Snapper, Slacker, System 7 and many more. Salt Tank are to play their only live show this year at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday 27th June on the Greenpeace stage at 1800hrs. ST are currently re-recording Leaving Town as a single and have other tracks already finished as well.


The Jose Padilla & Sunchild remix of Angels Landing appears on the The Ibiza Chill Out mix tape that is given away free with the June issue of Muzik Magazine on sale from 13th May. It is mixed by the king of the Cafe Del Mar - Jose Padilla and features exclusives from his album "Souvenir" released on June 29th. The Jose Padilla & Sunchild remix of Angels Landing also features on the forthcoming Cafe Del Mar "Volume Cinco" compilation released on July 13th on Manifesto.


The live dates are off for the moment as Salt Tank are concentrating on recording at the moment and have set up a second studio. They may however start their first DJ ing gigs soon. The next single in summer 98 will be a new recording of Leaving Town and more trance/dance floor friendly for extravaganza records.

A new tour starts May 1998. The hypersonique video for the new single Angels Landing can also be seen at the moment, clips from the video are featured on the covers of the single. A competition has been set, the prizes are 5 pairs of the rare deleted ST1 and ST2 singles plus 5 limited edition salt tank t-shirts. As expected, the new single will be Angels Landing, due to be released on the 19th January. The release date has been put back to January 26th.
