working on the final one. There is also a fabulous remix by micheal

Exclusive to this website, listen to 2 rare unreleased Salt Tank
remixes of Orbital's Lush that have previously only been heard inside
the offices of Internal Records. The remixes were both recorded in 1993,
just around the time of Eugina and before Olympic. The reason that they
were not released, was explained by David Gates:
"we remixed just after we had signed to Internal, although we
still hadn't released anything then so when the mixes were chosen for
the release the other people had a bigger profile at the time so ours
didn't come out."
A strange fact ! - Paul Hartnoll from Orbital was seen wearing a Salt
Tank T-shirt [brown issue 1 large logo type] during their performance
at Glastonbury 95.
The remixes are in 2 versions, 'salt tank's guitar mix' and David's
favourite, 'salt tank's teisco bass mix'. Visit the rare section of
the remixes page, and also now
available to listen to, is a great Salt Tank remix of 12 Trees - Last
Sonata.

Congratulations to David and his wife on the birth of their first
child Esalan Charlotte Gates who was born last Tuesday. Understandably
she is keeping David busy at the moment. He is currently putting a vocal
by Neve to Angel Falls for the next Chilled Euphoria album along with
an ambient mix of Dimension. Eugina should be out soon with all new
mixes - "all the bits we wanted to improve on the original are
now done, we went back to the same studio -eden and used exactly the
same equipment !"
May 30th, 2000
A new mix of Eugina for 2000 is featured on the Chilled
Euphoria compilation digitally mixed by Red Jerry released yesterday.
Well worth checking out, Eugina mixed in with Primal Scream's 'Come
Together' and featuring tracks by Sabres of Paradise, Brian Eno, Chicane,
Gentle People, Moby and many more!

New track 'The Energy' will come out as Salt Tank on Bedrock
Records. 'Patience' will come out as The Patient Saints [i.e. David
Gates and Swordfish of Astralasia] on Manifesto.
The album and new mix of 'Eugina' will probably come out on Hooj or
another label, but all this summer ! An ambient mix of 'Dimension' maybe
on Cafe del Mar 7 and Euphoria Chill Out. Salt Tank may also be producing
an artist called Neve, who as 'Angela John' sang on Jose Padilla's last
album Souvenir, she may also sing on a new version of 'Sargasso Sea'
for the album or her album or both !

'rezmorize', 'ocean', 'caveman', 'stormchase', 'eviane[the funky mix
version]' plus some more from about 7 others to make up 10 trax segued

Early in the new year, the Space Brothers/Astralasia collaboration called
'patience' is to be released, currently Paul Oakenfold has the only
acetate. A new track called 'the energy ' which is very driving minimalist
tech trance maybe released as part of an EP called 'elements'. David
