1991 Released first single Charged Up/Ease the Pressure which sold out 2 pressings (500 export copies to Belgium) played on John Peel's Radio One show and Colin Dale's Kiss FM show. 1992 Live debut gigs with Astralasia release of second record, 'The ethereal EP'. 1993 Record mini LP and various live events. ST1 and ST2 EPs released. Andrew Weatherall calls band on receipt of ST1 which becomes part of his live set. Radio plays on Pete Tong show, Radio One and John Peel, Radio One. Sign to Internal Records (home to Orbital, Polygram) 1994 May, ST3 released - No. 7 in the indie LP chart and No. 7 in Dance LP chart.More radio plays and a session recorded for John Peel Show in June. ST3 described by as 'Blissful mini Album of very melodic, soothing undeniably catchy techno, superb work.' Music Week. 'The sound of the Orb shagging This Mortal Coil.' Select. 'A total atmosphere, a magical dance floor experience, words simply can't express.' DJ magazine. Features in Melody Maker and Record Mirror. Gigs in London, Megatripolis, Trance Europe Express (+ a track on T.E.E 2), Subterrrania, Phoenix Festival. Hackney Homeless Festival, The Orbit, Leeds, Herbal Tea Party, Manchester and Brixton Fridge.Release of ST4. No. 6 in UK Indie LP charts. Music Week says 'one of the best new bands of 1994.' Time Out says in its feature 'salt tank have been responsible for some gloriously serene ambient/dance hybrids over the past couple of years, but more importantly they have a cracking tune.' Charged Up features in John Peel's Festive 50 for 1994 at No. 36. (The only other techno acts are Underworld at No. 42, Orbital at No. 31 and Sabres of Paradise at No. 28.) Mark Moore, S 'Xpress makes Eugina his top track of the year in DJ. 1995 Video filmed for 'Olympic' from ST4 and featured on MTV over December '94 and January '95. Mini tour of Belgium an d Holland, sold out shows at Club UK (crowd invitation and stage divers) and Megatripolis. July, ST5 Peel Sessions released - No. 5 UK Indie Singles Chart, Melody Maker. Top 10 in the Radio One Essential Selection Cool Cuts Chart. Top 10 in MUZIK's muzik sweep top 50 tracks of June '95. The React compilation Cafe del Mar, Vol Dos features Salt Tank's Sargasso Sea. 1996 New mixes of Eugina at Eden Studios, dub plates played by Sasha, John Digweed, Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold. Two years after its initial release,, the genre defining Eugina goes to number one on Radio One's Essential Selection Cool Cuts Chart and number one in Mixmag's Buzz Chart. The single enters the national top 40 in Britain, May Eugina gets heavy MTV plays and features 'Spud' from the film 'Trainspotting.' Eugina is single of the week in Mixmag Update, Dom Phillips says, 'frankly brilliant' and Eternity Magazine says 'real class, sure to be a classic for years to come.' The success of Eugina leads to it being on all the large selling compilation albums including, Cream II, Ministry of Sound, Essential Mix, Horizons etc. 500,000 sales in total. Blah Blah Blah says, 'chemical or organic, its a natural high.' The album had UK sales of 14,000 bringing salt tank total product sales to 50,000 in the UK alone. Salt Tank headline the dance stage at the Esparrago Festival in Granada, Spain. A full UK college tour with Megadog in October is a storming success. Mixmag says, 'techno with a musical structure and an emotional depth.' More live shows with sold-out gigs in Prague and Amsterdam. 1997 Early '97 is spent recording the new album and remixing high profile acts: PaulVan Dyk, Beautiful Place (top 10, Cool Cuts Chart, Nick Warren, Way Out West makes it No. 1 in his chart. Charted by Dave Seaman, Antony Pappa and Paul Oakenfold etc. Summer '98 tracks featured on Cafe Del Mar 5, Ministry of Sound Dance Nation 5 and Pete Tong's Essential Mix CDs. Live shows at Glastonbury in the mud and the glorious sun of the Megadog Beach Festival (music event of the year) also trips to Ibiza and USA. Autumn '98: launch of 4 Real Communications with limited edition series REAL 1 - I dream of Jeanie/Skyline (December '98) Plans for visual shows with Digital Arts, the leading video graphics company. 1999 Increased activity with release schedules every 8 weeks in 1999, including collaborations with Chicane, BT, Paul Van Dyk and Earth Nation. Paul Oakenfold cuts his own acetate and played it on Radio One's Essential Mix live from Cuba. Graham Gold also cuts his own acetate as well and plays it on KISS FM. Dimension is the first salt tank single to be released on Hooj Choons and reaches 52 in the UK charts. It features on many summer compilation including the Clubber's Guide to Trance mixed by ATB and Amnesia Ibiza x-perience 99. Manufacture of CD-ROM - promo. Live show at John Digweed's club Bedrock at Heaven, London featuring visuals by Digital Arts. One of the best live performances since 1996. September '99 sees the release of 'The White Island EP' capturing the Ibiza spirit. September '99: A 2 hour DJ mix on RTE Irish Radio One. 2001 Record first of a series of 3 singles for Bedrock - these show the tougher side of Salt Tank that people may have missed, unless they bought either of the two FFRR albums we recorded. Parts 2 and 3 are in production, its a harder darker beats thing ! Record vocal mixes of the classic 'Eugina ' with vocalist NÉVE, Hooj think this is 'A' list material, Red Jerry doesn't say that very often !, its taken from the forthcoming album 'The 4th Way'. Record new album 'The 4th Way' - still in production - 3 years so far but almost finished including a track co written with Chicane. David 's 'Patient Saints' project is signed to PERFECTO, by Paul Oakenfold himself - he rang 6 times and features on the soundtrack to Swordfish - the new Travolta movie, the album is doing very well in USA and the track is currently the 3rd most downloaded track on the internet chart in BILLBOARD! 'On your mind ' - featuring voclas written by Lustral's Ricky Simmonds. A Patient Saints album is also being recorded for Perfecto. Live shows are being planned for the autumn with Bedrock [universities], London and Brighton and Perfecto/Oakies Pacha night in Ibiza in September, and Hooj's Elements night in Sept in London.
