Travel

[Green Mountain - Ascension Island]

After attending Infant school in Long Buckby, nr Northampton we moved to Ascension Island in the South Atlantic Ocean. A volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean just below the equator. It is only 7 miles by 5 and home to around 1000 inhabitants. A whole new experience going to a new country so different to England. The temperature could be around 90 - 100 degrees most days. There was a very relaxed lifestyle and with extremely hot weather meant frequent visits to the beach.

A picture of Green Mountain taken from Sisters peak is shown above and the village of Two Boats where I lived for five years. The photo opposite shows a view from the top of Green Mountain showing the lush vegetation against the volcanic land where NASA tested their lunar lander. I have also travelled to Canada and Tenerife, USA, France, Belgium, Costa Del Sol - Spain, Gibralter and South Africa.
